Lyon T4 opens : On the 20th April the first part of tram route T4, in the south of the city, was opened between "Jet d'Eau-Mendès France" and "Hôptital Feyzin Vénissioux" via "Gare de Vénissioux", terminus of Metro line D. Local bus services were reorganised the following day. The new line adds a further 10km with 18 stops and 13 new Citadis trams numbered 858-70 with a further 3 on order.

A further extension from "Jet d'Eau" northwards 2.3km to "Gare Part Dieu", where it will meet with T1 & T3 and use the T1 to its Terminus "IUT Feyssine", is planned to open in 2013.
