One of the most heavily-used tram systems in the world is that serving the capital of North Korea, Pyongyang,
where private ownership of motor cars is unknown. This new system, opened in 1991, is served by Czech-built
trams from CKD Dopravni Systemi, some new and some second-hand from eastern Germany.
