Phoenix opening celebration

The grand opening of Phoenix METRO light rail takes place on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 27 and 28, with all rides free until the end of 2008.

The METRO starter line is 20 miles total.
Phoenix: 13.34 miles
Tempe: 5.5 miles
Mesa: 0.97 miles It has curently 50 vehicles manufactured by Kinkisharyo of Japan with plans to add a further 50 vehicles
