The Luas Red Line extension to Saggart opened on Saturday 2nd July with five new Luas stops serving Fettercairn, Cheeverstown, Citywest Campus, Fortunestown and Saggart. The Cheeverstown stop has a Park+Ride facility with 312 spaces. The line was opened by Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar at 12.00 Noon and gave free rides all day. Reported as costing EUR 150m the extension is expected to add two million passenger journeys to the Red Line.
