Systra appointed as technical consultant to Odense LRT

The french company Systra has been appointed by the Danish City of Odense as technical consultant for the development of a 14km LRT network.

The planned LRT system is ibntended to improve connections between the City Centre and the Odense Banegârd railway station with Tarup via Bolbro in the north of the city. It will also link to the developing areas in the south including the new University Hospital (The ODH) in Svendborg, and the established University of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitet). A second phase will run from Vollsmose via Vesterbro and on to the Odense Zoo. Together with Danish partners COWI, Systra will lead the design of the tramway's system specifications. The work includes technical input to the feasibility study and Environmental Impact Assessment, technical studies related to rolling stock, track and railway systems, preparation of tender documentation and advice on its future development.
