Edinburgh extension news

For cost reasons, the initial tram line at Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city due to open at the end of May, eliminated an extension on Leith Walk to the Newhaven waterfront redevelopment district. But now the Edinburgh Evening News reports a deal has been reached to build an extension -- reviving the mothballed GDP80 million line. A real estate developer planning a major retail project is offering to pay part of the cost. The extension would add 2.8 miles to the 8.7 mile starter line for a total route of 11.5 miles:
