Amsterdam - TV on the Tram

Sign advertising TV service - Alan Reekie Visitors to the recent International Broadcasting Convention taking the number 4 tram between the RAI Conference Centre and Amsterdam central station were able to watch a digital broadcast of EuroNews and the IBC TV news on their way to and from the show. To demonstrate DVB-T's mobile reception capabilities, seven of the trams were fitted with standard DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) receiving equipment configured for mobile reception.

Route 4 along with 11 and 12 provided free transport for delegates to the show. Trams 4 and 11, the latter specially for Conference delegates, runs between Central Station and the RAI, while the 12 runs from Sloterdijk Station to Amstel Station, connecting with the 4 and 11.
