The perfect companion to the Charleroi book! A series of carefully-restored Super-8 films shot between 1985 and 2013 by Wouter van Doorn and showing the declining years of traditional Vicinal operation in and around Charleroi. The first takes us on a trip from Maurage to Anderlues through La Louvière and Morlanwelz, perfectly demonstrating the Vicinal trait of dashing along at the roadside, twisting through small villages and passing the signs of the region's coal and steel-making industry. A run to Fontaine-l'Evêque and via Courcelles to Trazegnies and back to Morlanwelz follows, on lines 63 and 80 shortly before they were closed.

A section of the DVD covers the massive changes on line 90 as a result of the development of the pre-metro and finishes with a series of "then and now" stills taken twenty years after closure of the Anderlues to La Louvière section.

Dutch commentary with English, French and German subtitles. DVD-R PAL format. Full colour with sound, 67 minutes playing time.
